Description:

The Dental Office Administration - Radiography Specialization program is designed to prepare a student for an exciting and challenging career as a dental office administrator. Students will gain knowledge in general medical and dental terminology, billing procedures, appointment management, insurance company protocols, charting and records management processes and telephone and communication skills allowing them to seek employment in both a dental or medical setting since the majority of the skills are transferable skills applicable to wide range of healthcare settings. Students will also be trained in the taking of dental radiographs.

These transferable skills can also be applied to a medical office setting. As part of this program, students will also learn to take and process intra-oral and extra-oral radiographs according to Safety Code 30 standards. All students also receive training in first aid and CPR level C and WHMIS. After completing all of the courses, successful students are placed in a four-week practicum setting to gain practical work experience. The program concludes with career and employment strategies to start graduates’ new career as a dental office administrator.
