Students who choose the childhood & middle childhood education program will be qualified to teach children in the elementary grades 1-6, and in the middle level grades 5-9 (subject-specific). This program is recommended for students who would like to teach at the childhood level or the subject-specific middle school level.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn initial teacher certification in New York state for both childhood (grades 1-6) and middle childhood education (grades 5-9 content-specific).
