Description:

Food and drink is the single largest manufacturing sector contributing £103 billion to the economy and worth more than the value of the automotive and aerospace sectors combine. The sustainability and competitiveness of this sector is dependent on the large-scale adoption of technology and automation and businesses are increasingly seeking innovative engineering and control solutions to develop new products and processes and reduce waste.

The BEng Automation Engineering (Food Manufacturing) degree aims to produce skilled engineering professionals who can actively participate in and manage the executive design and development of automation systems, and who may take on full responsibility for installing, testing, and maintaining complex automation systems. This program is tailored to the needs of the food industry and is developed in collaboration with the National Centre for Food Manufacturing (NCFM).
