This combination of qualifications will significantly boost your employability as a journalist. Our students achieved a 100% pass rate for NCTJ Sports Journalism in 2015 – 82% achieved the gold standard. You will develop the core skills of sports journalism including writing previews, features, sports news stories and match reports. You can increase your practical experience by taking on reporting, editing and/or managerial roles on SportsByte – our student-run website covering sport across Sunderland. In the final year, you will produce your own sports magazine, newspaper or series of in-depth articles, plus go on an industry placement.
