Description:The program emphasizes the application of physics to biology and medicine. It provides an excellent background for careers in the expanding interdisciplinary research laboratories of government and industry, as well as a starting point for a career in medical physics. Completion of the program at an appropriate level will qualify a student to pursue post-graduate studies in biophysics, medical physics and related areas of physics.

  •  Grade12 English 
  •  Grade12 Calculus and Vectors 
  • 2 of  Grade12 Biology  or  Grade12 Chemistry  or  Grade12 Physics 

Applicants are required to have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), with ENG4U, Calculus and Vectors, 2 courses from: biology, chemistry, physics, and 2 additional courses. Two of three 4U high school science courses (i.e. Biology, Chemistry and Physics) are required for admission; completion of all three is highly recommended. Applicants who lack the third science course will take a replacement course in their first semester.

  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 85] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 89] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70]

Additional Admission Requirements:
    High school students must have a minimum average of 80% to apply to the co-op program. To be eligible to continue in the Co-op program, students must meet a minimum 70% cumulative average requirement after second semester, as well as meet all work term requirements. Please refer to the Co-operative Education program policy with respect to work term performance grading, work term report grading and program completion requirements.
