Description:

f you are compassionate with a strong work ethic and desire to take the lead in women’s care, our BSc Midwifery course will equip you with the necessary theory and practical skill needed to register with NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) standards as a qualified midwife.

Midwifery students and academic at Northumbria UniversityBSc Midwifery emphasises women centred care; focussing on normality, and preparing you during your professional transition to an autonomous practitioner and advocate for the woman and her family. With dynamic practice placements based in local NHS hospitals, community settings and women’s homes, you will be individually mentored throughout your training to develop the skills and competencies required to meet the NMC standards of a practising midwife. Modules are taught by qualified midwives, consolidating theory and practice. Supported through a variety of assessment methods, you will develop a sound knowledge and access research relating to current issues and developments within midwifery practice.
