Description:This one-year Ontario College Certificate program prepares students to apply principles of infection prevention and proper handling in the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization and storage of reusable patient care equipment and instrumentation in healthcare settings.

This unique program offers a combination of theory, lab practice, simulation and clinical experience. Students explore concepts of working in a healthcare environment including basic human anatomy, medical terminology, patient interventions and employee and patient safety. Focus is on team communication and customer service. Students gain manual dexterity by practising with patient equipment and surgical instrumentation in simulation labs and operate reprocessing equipment in clinical healthcare settings.
