Description:Sociology is the systematic study of social relations around class and economics, race, gender, sexuality; of human groups and social interaction and of social institutions such as the family, law, politics, multiculturalism, education, media, and religion. This dynamic and diverse major offers a wide range of relevant courses, while providing an excellent foundation for a large number of interesting career options. Sociology graduates are uniquely prepared to think critically and communicate effectively; characteristics that make them highly desirable.

Students in the Bachelor of Arts in Sociology program have the option of pursuing co-op opportunities, which requires one additional academic year of study - A total of 5 years in the Honours program and 4 years in the Major program.

Students entering directly from high school are required to have completed five academic Grade 12 subjects, including English, with an average grade of 70% and no grade below 60%.
