Description:

This degree aims to explore how social problems arise, how governments react, and the impact this has on society. Students can learn the skills necessary to analyze critically the efficacy and fairness of policies and explore public and media responses.

Social Policy draws on a range of social science disciplines, including sociology, politics, philosophy, economics, geography, and law. Students can use these approaches to examine welfare, poverty, social exclusion, and inequality, tackling difficult and often controversial topics, including current issues in the news.
