Description:This three year advanced diploma program is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Respiratory Therapy Education (CoARTE) and will prepare the graduate to work in the field of respiratory therapy. Curriculum will provide a strong foundation in equipment principles of operation, chemistry, biology, anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, critical thinking and analysis. Simulation labs and clinical placement settings will expose the student to practical learning. The overall program goals and objectives are aligned with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario Standards of Practice and the current National Competency Profile. Graduates of the program must meet the requirements of the jurisdiction in which they wish to practice.

Students admitted to the respiratory therapy program should note that the right to practice as a respiratory therapist is granted only through the appropriate authority of the province concerned through a process of licensure to practice. Graduates of the program must meet the requirements of the jurisdiction in which they wish to practice.
