Prepare for an exciting career in Vancouver's growing visual effects industry with training in Capilano University's Visual Effects for Film, Streaming & Immersive Media Diploma program. 

Learn from dedicated instructors who have years of experience working in film and TV while developing your skills in digital compositing, modelling and texturing, 2D & 3D animation, visual effects software, matte painting, lighting and rendering, VFX shots and more. 

Gain a solid understanding of production schedules & methods and developing distinctive content while learning on the same equipment used by the VFX pros who create engrossing visual worlds on the big screen. 

When you graduate from this intensive two-year post-secondary program, you'll have an impressive demo reel of visual effects projects including 3D modelling and animation to show to prospective employers and be ready to work in any film or television visual effects department.

    • High school graduation 

    Current high school students 

    Grade 12 students can apply for conditional admission based on their final Grade 11 and/or interim Grade 12 marks by uploading their most recent grades (e.g., unofficial transcript or a report card) through EducationPlannerBC. Final admission depends on high school graduation and meeting the specific requirements of the program. 

    Note: Applicants from B.C high schools must release their grades to CapU via the BC Ministry of Education at Student Transcripts Services (STS) as soon as possible.
