Description:

Some 26 subjects are available in UCD Science, providing an understanding of the world around us and underpinning future scientific developments. You can enter UCD Science through the Omnibus (DN008) or other Denominated routes.

All the degrees available are divided into three main areas: Biological & Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Mathematical Sciences.

DN008 is the Omnibus entry to 24 Science subject areas (see list on previous page). In Stage 1, you take 12 modules over two semesters, including up to two modules from outside the Science (BSc) programme area. In the later stages, you will specialise in one or two subject areas. The choices you make in Stage 1 will have a bearing on your final degree subject(s). Advice on making your choice is given at the advisory session before the start of the first semester. Please note that each subject has a maximum number of places available and that students are not guaranteed their first subject choice.
