Over the years, drafting has greatly evolved, and split into two specific categories: Artistic drawing--depicting figurative and non-figurative ideas that have cultural as well as commercial goals--and Industrial Drafting which is utilised in all sectors to transmit technical and practical ideas. In the past decade, there has been a shift from the drafting table to the computer thanks to the advent of specialized software programs.

At Aviron, the Industrial Drafting program provides students with detailed knowledge in a multitude of specialties across varying industrial sectors such as Mechanical, Structural, Building, Electrical, and Architectural. Students will acquire the highly in-demand skills in the 2D and 3D formats of design, and master the leading edge CADD program in our computer lab.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    All students are asked provide basic criteria: a birth Certificate with parent names, a ministry of education school transcript, and 2 small photos (4 photos for Auto Mechanics program). Additional academic requirements apply--speak to councilors for more information.
