Description:

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program is an interdisciplinary, research-based program that can be completed within three years of full-time study. Students enrolled in this program are required to complete 6 credit units of course work, a dissertation based on original research, and must participate in the Environment and Sustainability Seminar. PhD students must also complete a qualifying exam within four months of their first registration and a comprehensive exam (written and oral examination) within 16 months of their first registration. The goal of the PhD program in Environment and Sustainability is to prepare interdisciplinary scholars for leadership roles in advancing the understanding of Environment and Sustainability as a field of academic study. PhD students will participate in critical appraisal, research analysis and synthesis, and knowledge generation and translation.

    Applicants require a Master's degree from a recognized university in an area related to Environment and Sustainability, with a minimum scholastic standing of 70%. The ability to pursue advanced study and research and evidence of proficiency in English are also required.
