| The Bachelor of Social Work program prepares students to facilitate change in individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities. Social workers seek to improve quality of life and well-being, advocate for principles of social justice and equality for the oppressed and vulnerable, work to remove structural disadvantage, and create opportunities for people to develop their own skills and resources to reach their own goals. This program is available in a four-year degree program and a two-year after degree program, with a strong emphasis on clinical skills courses. Students typically gain more than 800 hours of practical field experience and benefit from the unique way we match our students to their placement sites. Applicants must have graduated from high school with five full credits at the Grade 12 level with a final overall average of 65 percent or higher. All five must be at the S (Specialized), 41G (General) or U (Dual Credit-University) level, or their equivalent. |
