Description:

This degree combines the discipline of Law with an understanding of political theory, political organisation, government and public affairs. The objectives of the programme are to provide you with: a knowledge of the principles and rules of law, an understanding of law in its broader political context, an understanding of the relationship between law and politics.

The degree will introduce you to fundamental legal concepts and principles, cultivate an ability to analyse law and engage in legal reasoning, promote a critical understanding of how politics and political theory shape and develop law and impart research skills in the fields of law and politics.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Domestic applicants require passes in six subjects (including two at minimum HC3) including: Irish, English, a third language, and three other recognised subjects.

    Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma: The minimum for consideration is minimum score of C in six subjects, which includes a minimum of B in two subjects, with English and specific programme requirements.
