Description:

This law degree is a merger of the discipline of Law with a grounding in History. The objectives of this programme are to provide you with: a knowledge of the principles and rules of law, an understanding of law in its broader historical context, and an understanding of how historical scholarship can inform our knowledge of law and the development of legal systems.

You will learn fundamental legal concepts and principles, cultivate an ability to analyse law, engage in legal reasoning, gain a thorough understanding in the academic discipline of history and acquire research skills in the fields of law and history.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Domestic applicants are required to have passes in six subjects (including two at minimum HC3) including: Irish, English, a third language, and three other recognised subjects.

    Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma: The minimum for consideration is minimum score of C in six subjects, which includes a minimum of B in two subjects, with English and specific programme requirements.
