Description:

Computer Science is the investigation and explanation of the theory, practice and use of computers and computation. If you have an interest in computer science and information technology, you should consider the BA in Computer Science. As distinct from the BSc in Computer Science, the denominated BA in Computer Science offers you the opportunity to combine these subjects with a variety of Arts & Human Sciences subjects.

Through your Computer Science studies you will acquire analytical and problem-solving skills, fundamental programming skills, a knowledge of the potential of information technology and an appreciation of computation notation.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Domestic applicants require passes in six subjects (including two at minimum HC3) including: Irish, English, a third language, Mathematics (minimum Grade B3 LC Ordinary Level/D3 Higher Level), and two other recognised subjects.

    Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma: The minimum for consideration is minimum score of C in six subjects, which includes a minimum of B in two subjects, with English and specific programme requirements.
