Description:

Acupuncture is a modality of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) that is increasing in popularity in Western culture due to its effectiveness on both acute and chronic health conditions and specifically in Ontario due to the recent passing of legislation that will regulate TCM and acupuncture under a new regulatory body: The College of TCM Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario. Shiatsu therapy is a form of bodywork originating in Japan and is based on traditional Chinese medical practices. The shiatsu therapy portion of the program offers students a comprehensive curriculum from both an Eastern and a Western perspective with extensive hands-on experience.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Applicants must have the following: an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), a strong desire to learn and grow, undergone a treatment in our student clinic, and successful completion an interview with a program administrator. Also required is a completed medical letter from the applicant's family physician indicated good physical and general health, freedom of communicable diseases, and a negative result from a recent two-step tuberculosis test.
