Description:

Police officers keep the peace, protect people and property, prevent crime and enforce both criminal and civil laws. They reassure victims, arrest criminals and act as peacemakers or mediators. Police work is a career that demands maturity, courage and strong communication skills.

Through classroom teaching and practical experience, students in the three-year Police Technology program are prepared for a career in law enforcement with police forces, not only across Québec, but throughout Canada.

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

Pre-admission Testing and Eligibility for the Program:

To be considered, applicants must attend a day of pre-admission testing and successfully complete each component. Testing takes place prior to the March 1 SRAM application deadline. Candidates who do not attend the testing will not be considered.

To qualify for the Police Technology program candidates: Must possess a minimum of a probationary driver’s license by the March 1st application deadline; Must possess an above average academic record; Must successfully complete a day of pre-admission testing; Candidates should be functionally bilingual in French and English.

Once conditionally admitted to the program, pass a complete medical examination in conformity with the requirements of entry to the École Nationale de Police du Québec (ÉNPQ).
