Description:The two-year, full-time Costuming for Stage & Screen Diploma teaches students the technical and creative aspects of costuming for theatre and film.

You'll learn costume history, textiles, wardrobe management and cutting and construction techniques. You'll gain hands-on experience working on campus theatre productions and student film projects. Our grads are well-qualified for entry-level positions in motion picture and theatre costuming departments.

Admission Requirements

    Applicants are required to have high school graduation.

    Application Notes : Capilano English Language Requirement for students whose primary language is not English or have received education in a language other than English: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): paper=560, internet=83, or English Language Assessment (ELA)=145, or International English Language Testing System (Academic IELTS)=6.5 overall, and no one score less than 6, or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL)=70, or Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic)=56 or Capilano University EAP 100 and 101 with a minimum B+ grade in each course.

    An interview and a portfolio are required as part of the admission process. Students who have sufficient work experience in the film or theatre industries may be admitted on a case by case basis to the second year of the program.

    Current Grade 12 students can be conditionally accepted based on final Grade 11 grades or interim Grade 12 grades. Students can upload proof of grades (e.g. unofficial transcripts, copies of report cards) through EducationPlannerBC when applying to Capilano University. Final acceptance will be based on high school graduation and having met the program specific requirements.
