Description:

M.C. College Group uses the Pivot Point Training System in its Hairstyling program. This renowned system is used worldwide and provides the latest in interactive instructional technology using full-colour textbooks in combination with live-action DVDs. Pivot Point’s educational philosophy is based on the principal of not only teaching the “hows,” but also the “whys.” The “whys” are based on a belief that hair design is an art form, with hair as the medium. This concept is explained through the same universal vocabulary used to explain classic designs in painting, sculpture, and architecture.

The Hairstyling program is divided into two learning situations, classroom instruction (which includes theory and practical hands-on work on mannequins), and school salons (where students gain practical experience on customers). The program has two key goals - to teach students the technical skills necessary to perform all manner of hairstyling services and to develop the personal and business skills necessary for success in the salon industry.
