Description:

The Computer and Web Specialist certificate program is a one-year program designed to provide students with a broad yet solid foundation in Information Technology. You learn highly valued skills and knowledge in office software and Internet applications, PC hardware and networking, business principles and communications, and software application and multimedia development.

In addition, this one-year program can help you secure employment as an Information Technology support person in business and industry. You may also wish to add this certificate to an existing diploma in Business Administration or Tourism.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade11 Applied Mathematics  or  Grade11 Principles of Mathematics 
  •  Grade12 English 
It is strongly recommended that prospective students complete Grade 12 on the academic program. Students must have at least a C standing in Applications of Math 11 or Principles of Math 11 or Math 82 and English 12 or TPC 12 or ENGL 090 or ENGL 091. Prospective students who do not meet the program requirements should meet with an education advisor to discuss upgrading options.
