The first two years of the 4 Year MD program consists of in-class preclinical studies at our campus in Aruba. The final semester of year 2 is the "board preparatory" semester that will prepare students for the USMLE Step 1. Upon passing the USMLE Step 1, students will begin their clinical rotations.
After completing their preclinical studies and passing the USMLE Step 1 exam the students will complete 2 years of clinical rotations in hospitals and clinics in the USA under the supervision of our faculty physicians. During their clinical rotations the student will sit for their USMLE Step 2 exam. After successful completion of the full 5 year MD program the student will be conferred a MD by Aureus University School of Medicine, Aruba. |

Bachelor of Science degree, or, a minimum of 90 credit hours completed at the premedical/undergraduate level (with mandatory prerequisites completed), and, Achieved a MCAT score under 480 or has not written the MCAT (For both the Bachelor of Science degree and MCAT score, they should be achieved within the last three years.)
Transfer students: Students currently enrolled in a 4 year MD Program at a IMED recognized medical school on an individual basis. The number of semesters a Transfer Student will be required to complete at Aureus will be determined by the admissions committee after a review of the Transfer Students record.
If you do not meet the prerequisites listed above, you may be eligible for our 5 Year Regular MD Program. |
