Description:

The certificates in Intermediate Economics cover the fundamentals of microeconomic and macroeconomic theory and applications, as well as statistical analysis. Each consists of four courses which can be completed at your own pace.

Completing the Certificate in Intermediate Economics II gives you the mandatory courses required for most Masters of Arts in Economics programs in Canada, and can be taken by graduates from other programs who want to move into graduate studies in economics, including Laurier's Business Economics Master of Arts in Business Economics (MABE).

Certificate in Intermediate Economics I: University-level equivalent courses in introductory microeconomics and macroeconomics, calculus and statistics.
The equivalent courses at Laurier are EC120, EC140, EC285, MA129. Applicants who hold a degree in Economics will not be admitted.

Certificate in Intermediate Economics II: Certificate in Intermediate Economics I, or equivalent courses (third year microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics).
The equivalent courses at Laurier are EC270, EC290, and EC295. Applicants who hold a degree in Economics will not be admitted.
