Music plays an important role in our worship and service to God and his church. Redeemer’s Music and Worship program emphasizes faith formation and deepening of the musical dimension of worship through experiential, practical learning and the pursuit of musical excellence and rigour.
Right from the start, you will gain an understanding of the role of music in worship as you study a wide selection of musical literature and its principal eras, genres and cultural sources—including and especially the many genres of worship music, from past to present. Through hands-on learning and practice, you'll gain the ability to articulate biblical and theological foundations for music in faith, church communities and life, with opportunities to design worship services as you consider the role of music, liturgy, teaching, scripture and prayer.
