Description:

Considering a career in Modern Languages and education? Perhaps you are thinking teaching abroad or teaching multiple languages. If so, our degree in Education and Modern Language could be the perfect choice for you. This course enables you to study education; from early years to lifelong learning. Combine this with an in-depth study of one of seven modern languages: Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian or Spanish. Alongside learning languages, you'll study key issues in education, such as: Disability, Learning theory, Inclusion. You will also have opportunities to gain first-hand experience through placements. These will take place in educational settings and link what you learn to what you observe and experience in classrooms. The language units will help you to look beyond the mechanics of language. Focusing on the social and cultural contexts; debating history, politics, film, literature and more. You’ll learn in small groups, offering maximum interaction with your lecturers and peers. This will also give you plenty of opportunities to practise. You will also have the opportunity to spend a year abroad studying your chosen language.

    High School Diploma/Graduation Certificate with 70% average across 6 grade 12 subjects at least four of which should be University Preparation Courses (denoted by 4U) (or AP/IB class), the other two courses could be University/College Preparation Courses (denoted by 4U/4M/4C) (or AP/IB class).
