Description:

The program now offers a specialization in Artificial Intelligence, designed to prepare students for careers in a broad range of job sectors that take advantage of the potential afforded by applying artificial intelligence techniques to computing challenges. The specialization features courses that focus on the theory, methodologies and applications of artificial intelligence. The specialization includes a research project that applies artificial intelligence to a practical problem, in collaboration with partners in the private or public sector. Unlike other programs, this specialization is not funded, but financial support is available to excellent students in the form of scholarships or internships.

Graduates with an honours undergraduate degree or equivalent (typically a four-year program with full-time enrolment) from an accredited university in electrical or computer engineering, with at least a B+ average in the last two years of study, may be admitted as candidates for the Master of Applied Science program in electrical and computer engineering. In addition, those admitted must have completed the equivalent of a senior-level project course or thesis in electrical or computer engineering. Significant industrial or research experience in electrical or computer engineering coupled with an honours undergraduate degree program or equivalent from an accredited university will be considered equivalent to an undergraduate electrical or computer engineering thesis.
