Description:

Learn the art and craft of writing for the screen, develop your portfolio and get yourself industry ready. This distance learning programme is designed to offer flexible study options, an online screenwriting community and access to industry experienced mentors. There will be a focus on developing new voices and all storytelling traditions will be embraced. We’ll help you to develop screenwriting skills that will take you from concept to screenplay and to produce a professional portfolio to take out to the marketplace.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree (three-year or four-year) at a recognised institution, with a minimum cumulative grade/ GPA (using 0-4 GPA scale) equivalent, corresponding to the published course entry requirements (please see the degree classification required on the course page for the degree programme to which you are applying). For Bachelor’s degrees completed in Canada:
    First degree class required: 3.6 GPA or higher (minimum 82%)
    2:1 degree class required: 2.9 – 3.59 GPA (minimum 70%)
    2:2 degree class required: 2.4 – 2.89 GPA (minimum 62%)
