The Faculty of Education, in collaboration with the Indigenous Education program at the First Nations University of Canada, offers a graduate program that leads to a Master of Indigenous Education that aims to: prepare students as leaders in pedagogical practice in Indigenous Education; provide students with the required skills, knowledge, and competencies needed to become effective Indigenous educators; prepare students to conduct research with Indigenous peoples; provide students with opportunities to learn, to understand, and to experience different forms and systems of Indigenous knowledge; and equip students with the competencies and abilities to integrate Indigenous knowledge into school curricula.

All applicants must meet the general admission requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research. In addition, the Faculty of Education requires the following: the applicant must have a four-year degree applicable to the program (normally a B.Ed., B.H.R.D., or B.A.Ed., or equivalent); at least two years of teaching or other relevant professional experience preferred; and a minimum grade point average of 70%.

The application, in addition to letters of recommendation and academic transcripts, should include a career resume and a letter of intent. Students will not be permitted to register until the semester for which they received admission. These review dates are also applicable to requests for program transfer and reapplication.
