To be an electrologist or esthetician, you usually need certification from a related educational or training institution. A membership in a national or provincial association may also be required for electrologists.
In Manitoba apprenticeship training is available for electrologists, estheticians and nail technicians and trade certification is compulsory.
Many recent entrants have a trade/vocational certificate or community college diploma, and almost 1 in 10 has an undergraduate university degree.
