Career Description

Technical sales specialists promote sales to existing clients, and identify / solicit potential clients, assess the needs / resources of clients and recommend appropriate goods / services, provide input into product design where goods / services must meet clients' specific needs, develop reports / proposals and deliver presentations, and troubleshoot technical problems.

Duties May Include

Technical sales specialists may train customers' staff in the operation / maintenance of equipment, estimate costs of installation / maintenance of equipment / service, conduct sales through Internet-based electronic commerce, prepare and administer sales contracts, and specialize in selling scientific / industrial products, telecommunication / computer services, and other particular products / services.
