Job opportunities will come primarily and from positions vacated by retiring machinists and machining and tooling inspectors or by those who are promoted to positions as tool and die makers (NOC 7232), machinists foremen (NOC 7211) or, if they have the relevant training, numerical control tool programmers (NOC 2233). Experience in small workshops helps to progress to better paid positions in large companies and experience in general helps in obtaining positions as machining and tooling inspectors. Other opportunities will result from employment increase.
