Profile

Education at Quest is designed expressly for the 21st century student. Courses integrate disciplines and offer a fusion of practical and academic knowledge. A small student population ensures an intense, collaborative learning environment in which students work closely with faculty and peers. And affiliations with eighteen leading universities throughout the world offer annual review of Quest's academic program and also provide student exchange and work abroad opportunities.

Quest operates on a $100 million, environmentally friendly campus in the spectacular Pacific Coast of British Columbia just north of the international city of Vancouver. In the town of Squamish, students have the chance to participate in a rage of "Sea to Sky" sports that include everything from kayaking to hiking and, through field experiences, engage directly with the natural world.

Areas of Expertise

Quest University Canada's academic focus is exclusively on Liberal Arts and Sciences. This involves the study of an enormous range of subjects including literature, languages, philosophy, music, history, art, and religion, as well as mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, psychology, economics, sociology, and political science.

Residence life is an integral part of the Quest experience. Students must live in residence unless they are a local resident or live in the Squamish area with a relative. Even students who might qualify for such an exception are strongly encouraged to live on-campus to benefit from and help build our community.

Incoming Students

A special three day orientation is mandatory for all incoming students.

Career Planning

Students are assigned faculty advisors who will assist them with their program planning and monitor their progress toward graduation.

Sports

Quest has varsity basketball and soccer teams for both men and women, and also has plans to develop. The school provides students with a wide range of high quality opportunities in both recreation and athletics, including a gymnasium built to National Collegiate Athletic Association and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics specifications for basketball and volleyball. The campus includes several squash courts, a full workout facility, and change rooms. Adjacent to the recreation facility is a soccer pitch with all season artificial turf, and two tennis courts.

Activities

Quest's stunning location on Canada's ruggedly beautiful Pacific Coast offers students incredible outdoor recreational possibilities. Located in Squamish, the "Outdoor Recreational Capital of Canada" and within an hours drive to the world class ski/recreational centre of Whistler Mountain, Quest will offer students an abundance of opportunities to participate in outdoor recreational activities.

Clubs

Student initiated, and operated clubs and societies are encouraged and supported by the Office of Student Life. These often focus on topics and activities of interest to a particular group of students. Typical activities might focus on an outdoor pursuit, an academic interest, a social or environmental concern, or a hobby or other recreational pursuit.

Information Technology

Quest University's entire campus offers wireless connectivity. All students are assigned an account giving them access to the Internet and e-mail.

International Involvement

An International Student Support Worker will assist international students with various needs during their time at Quest including help with visa procedures and travel arrangements. This individual is available to help students connect with other groups and organizations within the community of Squamish and the city of Vancouver.

Campus Tour

Quest is unlike any other university in Canada. Visiting campus is the best way to experience the academics, the environment, and the unique culture. Visits are normally arranged on weekdays, beginning at either 10am or 12pm. During the term, visitors have the opportunity to attend a class (when in session), meet with current students, staff, and faculty, tour campus, and sample lunch in the dining hall. You will also have the chance to meet with an Admissions Counsellor to discuss Admissions, Scholarships, and Financial Aid.
