Career Planning

Co-operative Education & Career Services supports, trains and leads students and alumni as they make career and further education planning decisions. Our objectives are to provide students with job search skills, assist students to discern career or further education planning, and provide experiential learning and employment opportunities.

Sports

The Athletic Centre is a 25,000 square foot fitness centre. The new space features a suspended running track, varsity basketball and volleyball courts, a climbing wall and numerous multi-purpose rooms for fitness and recreation activities. The newly expanded facility includes a 2,200 seat events centre, social spaces, concession areas, a merchandise store and new locker rooms.

Activities

The University of Guelph recognizes the importance of extracurricular activities for an individual's maturity and the well-being of the community. This position is clearly visible in the university's support of student organizations, fundraising for charities and the recognition of volunteering efforts and contributions to community life. In addition, extracurricular activities clearly can enhance resumes and so increase the chances of being hired.

Clubs

The CSA Clubs office is home to 100+ clubs on campus. If you want to get involved and make friends with other students who have the same interests, then check out the wide range of clubs accredited through the CSA. These clubs' mandates range from cultural, political, religious, athletic, social, or just for fun; there's something for everyone!

Information Technology

In partnership with the McLaughlin Library, CCS provides the IT Help Desk as a free service to assist students, faculty and staff with IT-related questions or problems.

NEW LOCATION: The IT Help Desk is now located with the AskUs Desk on the first floor of McLaughlin Library; come visit us near the blue pillar. Find our hours on our website.

Cultural

The Cultural Diversity Office plays a critical role in providing support to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) students at the University of Guelph. We aim to foster a supportive, affirming and inclusive campus for students through programming where students can learn about themselves and others, creating spaces for cultural celebration, advocacy and exploring social justice through a diversity and inclusion lens including:

  • Advising and counselling through our Cultural Diversity Advisor
  • Semester and yearlong mentorship,
  • engagement, and transition programs
  • Skill-building workshops and training
  • Community-building and social events
