Areas of Expertise

Our strength lies in our challenging academic and co-curricular program offered in a small, supportive family environment. Students come from over 20 countries from around the world. Students are strongly encouraged to take part in a variety of experiences that help to shape their character. The College offers a full range of athletic activities, a strong program in the visual and performing arts, numerous leadership opportunities, and adventure possibilities.

Sports

The athletes in our school are fortunate in having fine facilities, excellent coaches, and opportunities to play both against teams from the Conference of Independent School (CIS) and those in our local public association, the Bay of Quinte. Each term there is a wide range of athletic opportunities. Some are competitive, some developmental and some simply recreational. Boys' sports include Soccer, Rugby, Volleyball, Basketball, Swimming, Racquet Sports, Track and Field, Fitness, and Cross Country. Girls can involve themselves in Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Field Lacrosse, Field Hockey, Swimming, Track and Field, Fitness, and Cross Country.

Activities

From outdoor adventure to band and choir to model United Nations debating, our extracurricular activities are designed to spark new challenges and develop self confidence.

Clubs

Students are able to make use of the school's extensive facilities in their free time, regardless of whether they are affiliated with a club or organization. Students who do not find an existing club or activity to meet their needs are encouraged to start a new one. This open approach invites students to expand existing skills, discover new talents, and foster new friendships.

Information Technology

Albert has over 120 Pentium computers, CD-ROM, and computers online database services, including Internet and e-mail access from all classrooms and dorms. Our technology program continues to expand, but technology should be viewed as a means to an end and not an objective in and of itself. Our goal is to use technology as a tool, not a crutch.

Cultural

Albert College prides itself on having an extensive co-curricular program comprising theatre, visual art, instrumental music and vocal music. A wide variety of activities are offered - wind ensemble, choir, dance, and watercolour - to name a few.

Affiliated Institutions

Albert College is a member of the following organizations: Canadian Association of Independent Schools (CAIS); Ontario Conference of Independent Schools (CIS); the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS); the Association of Boarding Schools (TABS); and is a founding member of the Canadian Educational Standards Institute (CESI).
