Profile

The Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (formerly known as Institute of Indigenous Government (All Nations Institute)) was established in 1995 as a public post-secondary institution offering primarily first and second year university programming. It is currently the fastest growing school in British Columbia and is located in Burnaby.

The Institute is unique in that it offers the best of both worlds, an indigenous perspective with main stream opportunities. This is realized through high quality programming, qualified professors, low tuition rates, and a warm, supportive atmosphere. Lower mainland students wanting to learn in a safe, culturally familiar, and culturally supportive environment can now pursue post-secondary studies at the NVIT Vancouver campus. On-campus Elders, programming that incorporates Aboriginal ways of knowing into the curriculum and quality Aboriginal faculty make NVIT unique among BC public post-secondary institutes.

Areas of Expertise

The Institute offers university transferable programs and courses in administration, arts, and the social sciences. We are committed to serving the community through the provision of continuing initiatives, educational access programs, topical workshops, seminars, and forums.
