Requirements for Canadian Students

Applicants must be at least 18 years old as of December 31st.

The selection process is not subject to any admission quota by province or region. Talent and dedication are the sole criteria. The selection process is a complex one of analysis, evaluation and comparison.

Procedure for Canadian Students

You can apply to the National Theatre School online. Applications are accepted between October 1 and January 31 each year. Application fees are $75 per program, non-refundable.

The school year is divided into two semesters. The first semester begins around Labour Day and ends mid-December. The second semester runs from January until the beginning of May. Classes are generally held from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. There are frequently rehearsals, performances and classes on Saturdays, Sundays, and in the evening. There is only one status for all students and that is full-time. The complete pedagogical path of each of the programs is obligatory. The School grants no equivalence, exemption or substitution of classes.
