Completion of Grade 9 is the minimum requirement for the Pre-Employment Welding program. While the school does not require a high school diploma, it should be noted that some employers in the industry may, and students with less than Grade 11 often have trouble passing apprenticeship exams.

Students wishing to enrol in any of the various courses offered are first required to fill out a registration form, available by contacting the school. Space permitting, students (other than Pre-Employment Welding program students) may start immediately and tailor their hours according to their own schedules. For the Pre-Employment Welding Program, a new start date occurs every three weeks with a maximum of eight new students.
