Description:

The Arts, Literature and Communication (ALC) program offers its students an opportunity to explore, create and appreciate culture in a well structured program. ALC offers a wide variety of courses with teachers who are professionals in their field, using an innovative multi-media and multi-disciplinary approach. The aim of this program is to provide students with a broad knowledge and an excellent opportunity to develop their imagination, technical skills and critical thinking.It is a flexible program designed to allow students to choose from a variety of courses in cultural studies, languages and production.

Students leave this program with an understanding of cultural institutions and their place in society as well as an appreciation of the socio-cultural implications of the arts and/or languages. Our facilities at John Abbott College include a new darkroom photography lab, video and radio studios, up-to-date language labs, creative writing classrooms, a fully-equipped theatre and MAC labs for digital photo, digital media, film making and animation.

    CEGEP Admission requirements:

    A Secondary School Diploma which includes: Secondary 5 Language of Instruction, Secondary 5 Second Language, Secondary 4 Mathematics, Secondary 4 Science and Technology or Secondary 4 Applied Science and Technology, Secondary 4 History and Citizenship Education.

    OR a Secondary School Vocational Diploma which includes: Secondary 5 Language of Instruction, Secondary 5 Second Language, Secondary 4 Mathematics.

    OR Applicants who have not studied in Québec must have education deemed equivalent by the College.
