Description:

Students intending to pursue a degree in Computer Science may seek admission to one of several university faculties, including Science (UBC), Applied Sciences (SFU), and Engineering (UVIC). Specific course requirements vary among universities, but core first year courses are fairly standard. Admission to Computer Science Departments is highly competitive. As a result, alternatives to a degree in Computer Science are becoming increasingly popular among students who are primarily interested in the applications, as opposed to the theory of Computer Science. Students are advised to learn about related programs.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
The University Transfer Program is open to students who have completed the course requirements for:

Any of the five Foundation options at Columbia; or
A BC Grade 12 Secondary Diploma elsewhere, with a minimum average grade of C in four academic Grade 12 subjects, including either English 12 or Communications 12.
