Description:

This innovative interdisciplinary graduate program in Migration and Diaspora Studies (MDS) allows students to address such interconnected issues as refugee movements, migration, mobility and diasporas that inform the modern world. It brings together a broad spectrum of academics and practitioners from the humanities, social sciences and public affairs to examine the cultural, social, economic and political implications of the movement and transnational settlement of people. The program supports historically-informed and forward-looking approaches to the analysis of cultural and social identities, diversity and integration, exile and memory, forced migration, and refugee communities. The two-year Master of Arts (MA) program offers three pathways: coursework-only, research essay and thesis. There are also two graduate diplomas (GDips).
