Profile

Archer College is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver at the corner of Beatty Street and Robson Street near the Vancouver Public Library. The College provides a friendly, fun atmosphere and a wide variety of courses, including English as a Second Language (ESL), TEFL Teacher Training, and TOEFL and TOEIC classes. Our goal is to help you learn English as quickly possible while having a fun experience in Vancouver. Our teachers are all experienced and have taught both in Canada and overseas. They are lively and fun, and will really enjoy working together with you as you explore Canada and the English language. Canadian owned and operated, Archer College is licensed and bonded by the Private Post-Secondary Education Commission, and is a member of Tourism Vancouver and the Better Business Bureau of British Columbia. We are also a recognized educational institute with Human Resources Canada.

Areas of Expertise

At Archer College, our main goal is to help students maximize their time in Canada. We realize that you are investing a lot of time and money towards your educational goals, and you don't want to waste this. Our full-time classes are offered five days a week with optional classes in the late afternoon. Besides ESL classes, we also offer teacher training classes for Canadians. This means that you will not only be meeting and mixing with international students from around the world, but you will also get the chance to meet and talk with other Canadians.

Off Campus Housing

Archer College is able to arrange comfortable, safe accommodation with Canadian families. All homes provide a private room and all meals, along with optional airport pick up. Your homestay family has hosted other students, and will be patient and kind. They will explain Canadian customs to you and help you to find your way around Vancouver. You will have fun going out with them, doing things together, and really seeing how Canadians live!

Sports

Many activities are arranged by the College, which you can join if you wish. Vancouver is beautiful and safe with lots of activities (cycling, snowboarding, skiing, hiking, swimming, etc.), and many things to do (movies, sports, shopping, etc.). It's Canada's warmest city, between the Pacific Ocean and the Rocky Mountains. It's clean, friendly, and fun. You'll love it!

Clubs

Students may participate in a variety of activities such as debating, school newsletter, etc. These meetings are usually held at noon and are a good way for students to meet new friends and practice English. The school newsletter is available for viewing on our website.

Information Technology

The College has a computer lab that offers free high speed fiber optic Internet and e-mail access for all students at anytime when the school is open.
