South Wales

The University is based in South Wales, UK with campuses in Cardiff, Newport and Pontypridd. Wales is a country in its own right, but is part of the UK. South Wales has a vibrant city life, culture, nightlife, music festivals, award-winning beaches, outdoor adventure, history and breath-taking countryside.

It is a safe, affordable and welcoming place to study. Our students love the friendly atmosphere at the University of South Wales. All our campuses are easily reached by road, rail and air.

Pontypridd Campus

USW Pontypridd is surrounded by green open spaces. Our students say they love the community atmosphere, the extraordinary scenery, and as the convenience of living and studying in the same place. USW Pontypridd is our largest campus and is made up of two sites; Treforest and Glyntaff, which are just 20 minutes via train from Cardiff, the capital City of Wales.

From historic buildings to new, modern structures, Pontypridd Campus reflects the University’s history and its ambitions. Here, you’ll find everything you need in one place – your classes, the library, cafes and bars to eat and drink, a sports centre and even a nightclub.

Cardiff Campus

Cardiff is right in the city centre, and is home for our creative industries students. Offering specialist facilities and cutting edge equipment, you can develop your creative work in a professional environment. You’ll also find study spaces, the library and the SU – all in the one impressive building.

Cardiff is a major centre for media production in the UK, with BBC drama studios on the doorstep and Pinewood Studios nearby. The city centre is also set to welcome the headquarters of BBC Wales, while ITV Wales is making Cardiff Bay its new home. Cardiff is known as a city of culture and entertainment.

Newport Campus

Right at the heart of the city, overlooking the River Usk, is one of the University's most iconic buildings. It couldn't be in a better location to embrace city life in Newport. Plus, the Halls of Residence are just a few minutes’ walk away.

The campus is a beautiful, modern building with a Starbucks Cafe, open plan library and innovative teaching spaces, including our Cyber Security Academy. If you're based here, you'll likely be studying business, counselling, hotel and hospitality management, social work, teacher training, working with children and families or youth and community work.
