Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences—Occupational Therapy Pathway (BS/MSOT)

This 3+2 pathway allows you to earn both a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Health Sciences and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) in five years instead of the traditional six.

Help People Regain Independence

Learn how to build or restore patients' abilities to perform daily tasks and educate them to optimize their independence. In this 3+2 pathway, you will spend the first three years in study at our Boston campus earning your bachelor's degree. For the balance of the program, you will transition to our Manchester campus, where you will work alongside professional experts in our advanced simulation laboratories. Upon graduation, you will be eligible to sit for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy exam. The BS/MOT program begins in the fall.

Your Three-Year Undergraduate Journey

The undergraduate portion of this combined degree program will provide you with a strong foundation in the medical sciences, social sciences, and various areas of healthcare policies and practice.

First-Year Experience

  • study biology and chemistry and attend associated labs
  • participate in a health sciences seminar
  • develop an understanding of human psychology and American culture and how they impact the healthcare system

Second-Year Experience

  • gain an understanding of healthcare ethics, healthcare delivery, and health promotion
  • hone your interpersonal communication skills and explore public health and policy
  • study child and adolescent development and cultural anthropology

Third-Year Experience

  • learn healthcare informatics and research analysis and methods
  • study human development and abnormal psychology
  • explore exercise physiology and complete a health sciences practicum
  • students who submit their OTCAS, achieve the minimum GPA and other admission requirements are reviewed for admission to the MSOT program

Full-time, four-year program at our Boston campus. Choose among three tracks: general, health education, or healthcare management.

Spend the first three years at MCPHS-Boston before transitioning to our Worcester campus for the duration of the program.
