Computerized Accounting and Bookkeeping

The Computerized Accounting and Bookkeeping program will provide you with a solid foundation in industry theory and practice in an online learning platform. In addition, you will receive extensive practice using Quickbooks and Sage 50, accounting software used by small to medium size businesses. 

In this online accounting and bookkeeping program, you will be able to define the role of accounting in the business environment, use standard accounting methods and tools to record transactions, use general and specific journals, perform accounting for receivables, set up payroll, and manage banking, credit cards, and tax scenario.

You will also learn to set up a computerized accounting system using industry-standard software and record basic transactions including vendor purchases and payments, account and cash sales, receipts and payments, and credit card receipts and payments. 

Admission Requirements

High school graduation or equivalent* OR mature student status**.

*From an English language teaching institution.
**19 years of age upon starting classes, and pass college’s admissions test.

This program has been approved by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training.


This program is 12 weeks in length.

CAB4-OL / Computerized Accounting II with Sage 50
Computerized Accounting II will build on what was learned in Computerized Accounting I with Sage 50. Level II students will learn how to set up payroll and Inventory, record payroll and inventory, set up budgets, and reconcile accounts by working with a variety of business simulations.
CAA4 / Computerized Accounting with Sage 50 Level I
Students transfer their knowledge from Accounting Fundamentals and learn how to apply these concepts in a computerized environment using Sage 50. Some topics covered in this module include setting up a computerized accounting system, computerized journals and ledgers, income statements and balance sheets, as well as customer accounts.
AFC4-OL / Bookkeeping and Financial Accounting
Bookkeeping and Financial Accounting is an introduction to the fundamental principles and practices of accounting as a device for reporting business activity. It provides the student with an understanding of the underlying theory and principles of accounting. The construction of financial statements as they evolve from business transactions and records is emphasized. This course also includes merchandising sales, inventories and cost of sales, accounting information systems, receivables, and payroll.
BMT4-OL / Business Mathematics
Business Mathematics is an introduction to the use of mathematics in business with an emphasis on finance, accounting and investment. It begins with an overview of the fundamentals of mathematics and algebra and then moves on to typical business applications.
B1068-OL / Computerized Accounting III with QuickBooks
In Computerized Accounting III you will build upon your knowledge and skills in computerized accounting systems, learning QuickBooks, an easy-to-use and powerful accounting application. Students will learn to set up a new QuickBooks company and manage customer accounts, to review and consolidate understanding of Excel and Word by exporting QuickBooks data into these programs.
