LLM International Business - Master of Laws

​During your degree, you will study six compulsory modules, regardless of whether you chose a pathway of follow the generic degree.​

Should you wish to study modules from different pathways, you can do this under our LLM International Business programme.

The first week of our LLM includes a compulsory and intensive induction to ensure you understand the fundamental requirements and distinctive features of a legal qualification.

Our LLM is taught through a blend of weekly lectures, tutorials, seminars, and workshops that will help you develop a systematic and critical understanding of the field of study. We will encourage you throughout to formulate original opinions supported by leading legal authority and emerging legal rules and principles. You will critically evaluate current and advanced research in your modules and propose novel solutions to legal issues.

Independent learning forms a part of this programme and you will be supported in developing your legal research and writing skills by us.

You will have access to world-leading legal databases, indexes, and journals via our library with plenty of support available from library service staff who are experienced in supporting you though your legal studies.

Taught modules on the LLM International Business are assessed through a combination of written coursework, assignments, and oral presentations. Your dissertation will comprise of a single piece of work of up to 12,000-words.

Our LLM is designed to equip you with advanced legal knowledge and skills to help you to stand out in the careers market. Previous graduates have entered multinational corporations as managers or administrators and commercial chancery practices across private and public sectors, including NGOs, and international organisations.

For business graduates, our LLM can lead to employment in areas of businesses where regulatory compliance is needed, such as HR, Marketing, Legal and Finance. From insurers and reinsurers to import/export and other supply chain organisations involved in international trade.

Applicants are required to have at least one of the following:

A UK Honours Degree (or the equivalent of a UK Honours Degree) in a subject appropriate to the LLM.

OR

A postgraduate qualification.

OR

Appropriate Professional qualifications or experience.
