This is a rewarding, health-centered field where you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the quality of life of individuals with illness and/or disabilities. Through assessment, planning, and delivery of activities, you will help people lead more fulfilling and independent lives. This specific training will prepare you for a career in clinical and community-based settings.

Ontario College Diploma

Upon graduating, students will have completed the formal education requirements for the R/TRO-DIP designation through Therapeutic Recreation Ontario.

Students may also have the opportunity to obtain numerous industry certifications outside of the classroom such as: Inclusion Certificate (Level One, Two and/or Three) from Variety Village, Gentle Persuasive Approaches Certificate, High Five Certification, First Aid/CPR Certification and NCCP Certification.

Learning outcomes represent culminating demonstrations of learning and achievement. In addition, learning outcomes are interrelated and cannot be viewed in isolation of one another. As such, they should be viewed as a comprehensive whole. They describe performances that demonstrate that significant integrated learning by graduates of the program has been achieved.
