The Sport Media program is your path to a successful career in the sport industry. It offers hands-on experience in sport entertainment management, sports journalism, live production, on-air hosting, audio and video editing, multi-platform marketing and a wide array of short-term experiential learning opportunities abroad.

 With access to valuable networking opportunities and the option to minor in Business Essentials at the Ted Rogers School of Management, you’ll graduate with marketable skills and industry connections.

Academic requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program specific requirements.

Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:

  • A minimum grade of 70% or higher will be required in Grade 12 U English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U)

Student spotlight

Sport Media student creates video game to raise awareness about celiac disease

Sport Media student Emily Rome developed a video game called aLEARNgic in the course ‘Introduction to Game Design’. With the aim of raising awareness, the game allows users to play as Celine, a woman diagnosed with celiac disease. Users will learn more about the lifestyle changes and choices a person with the autoimmune disease makes in their life.
