Concordia University of Edmonton’s Bachelor of Education (After Degree) is an innovative and targeted program designed to prepare you for a challenging and rewarding career as a teacher in Alberta’s elementary schools.
The Bachelor of Education (After Degree) is a two year elementary generalist program recognized by the Alberta Teachers’ Association and fulfills the requirements for certification as a teacher in Alberta. All courses in the BEd (AD) program include an assessment of professional pre-service attributes.

The courses you’ll take are specifically designed to prepare you to lead a classroom. Learn lesson planning, classroom management, best practices in education, and subject-specific insights that leave you feeling confident and excited to teach.
Grow alongside current teachers with two practicum experiences that will help you put your learning into practice! Take part in a four-week practicum in your first year, and start your fall semester with a brand new class where you’ll truly get to know your students and watch them grow over nine weeks.
